What to Expect on Your
First Visit |
Welcome. We
would love for you to join us for one of our services. We think
you'll discover for yourself the family atmosphere at Freeland UMC.
For your first visit:
1. Pick
a service: We have an early service beginning at 9:00 a.m. on
Sunday morning and a later service at 10:30 a.m. Church school is at
9:00 a.m. during the early service. Each service has its own
style: the 9 a.m. service is contemporary and the 10:30 a.m. service
is traditional.
SUMMER WORSHIP schedule begins the Sunday before
Memorial Day. There is one service beginning at
10:00 a.m.
2. Get
directions: We are located at 205 E. Washington St.,
Freeland, MI. Call 989-695-2101 if you have any
questions.
3.
Church school begins during the first service. Nursery through
pre-kindergarten classes are located straight across from the church
entrance. Kindergarten through 6th grade meet in the sanctuary for
the first fifteen minutes of church and depart to their classrooms.
4. Go to the sanctuary for
the service. Dress for our services is anything from jeans
to a dress or shirt and tie. Everyone is welcome. During our
services we have times when we talk aloud together, sing, stand up
and sit down. Someone will let you know what to do when. You can use
the songbooks that are stored underneath each seat or you can look
up on the video screen to see the words to the music. It is up to
you. We also have an offering in the middle of our service. You are
not required or expected to put anything in the offering plate.
Please, be our guest and keep your money in your pocket.
Sometimes we have Communion
Sundays. Everyone is welcome to share
Communion with us.
5.
After the service: Join us in the
Fellowship Hall for great company and a delicious treat.
